Previously we have looked at the implementation of sustainable practices and the barriers that come with it as well as the emerging technologies in the sector that are aiding sustainability.

For this webinar, we turn our attention to the area of leadership.

The panel discussion of FM leaders will be hosted by Bernard MacOscair, Portobello Institute Lecturer and Managing Director of Berka Solutions

“We’re now going to start talking about leadership. The level of change we’re looking for is significant.

“We can’t keep doing what we’ve done for the last ten or fifteen years in the FM industry and think we’re going to get a better result. That level of change will take leadership.

“This is one of the challenges we have between service organisations and client organisations.

“The service organisations may have the responsibility, but the accountability often sits with the client.

“Often leadership falls between these gaps.

“We’ve got some really strong leaders within the FM industry and we’re going to have a robust conversation about how we can get through these leadership challenges to make a difference.

“We all owe it to ourselves, the planet and the people that work for us in the FM industry to find a way of making our environment more sustainable," he said.

You can register for the webinar here.

The speakers for this webinar will be announced soon but in the meantime, you can check out our previous webinars on sustainability implementation and emerging technologies on our YouTube channel.

Education is a journey that we all begin and finish at different points in our lives. I support students from all walks of life as they map out the path to their dream career. As I am often the first point of contact for many prospective students, I am excited to introduce students to the Portobello Institute experience. I love learning about students’ ideas, goals, and passions, and this job allows me to do so.
