Insight into our Fashion, Beauty & Makeup Departments

Insight into our Fashion, Beauty & Makeup Departments
07 Sep 2020

With the autumn courses fast approaching we are delighted to share a snapshot into the head of our Fashion, Beauty and Makeup departments, Annemarie McAuley.  We would like to give an insight into the sheer level of support in place across our programmes here at Portobello Institute to those who are commencing their studies with us this autumn.  Also, to confirm to anyone considering enrolling on a course of the relevant support system in place for all of our learners.

Armed with 20 years’ experience in business and Retail Training, Annemarie has worked at senior level with Companies such as Saks Fifth Ave (USA), The Body Shop, Claire’s Accessories, The Health Store Group and is a member of the panel for coaches and mentors for the Dublin local Enterprise board, Enterprise Ireland who specialise in start-ups.

Annemarie’s background in psychology and counselling enables her to get to the heart of individuals’ needs and encourages and promotes learners at all levels to maximise their full potential.

Also, for Annemarie, as fashion and design programme manager, it’s about helping and supporting students to be successful and her commitment to seeing them through to a career in fashion.  Her commitment to students is ever present with ongoing correspondences from graduates having secured roles as fashion buyers and merchandisers all over the globe.

Listening to market trends and ensuring best learning for students, Annemarie manages a solid team of industry experts and she is heavily involved in the ongoing development of the programme content across the departments.

Annemarie will continue to develop the Fashion and Beauty Hub for learners who want to develop in many areas within international brands, set up a business, become entrepreneurs or indeed work for a spa in a 5 star hotel or a luxury cruise liner.

For anyone that is interested in starting a beautiful career in Fashion, Beauty therapy or Makeup Artistry come along to our upcoming open day on Thursday, 20th September from 5-7pm.  Alternatively, call our academic advisor Jenny Cosgrave for full details on 01 8920007 or email jenny.cosgrave@portobelloinstitute.com

Education is a journey and the destination is a career that you love. I support the department that helps you to plan your journey so you can find the path that’s right for you. As I am often the first point of contact for many prospective students, I am excited to introduce students to the Portobello Institute experience. I enjoy learning about students’ ideas, goals, and passions, and this job allows me to do so.
