Paula Walshe is an Assistant Lecturer, published author and PhD student researching Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Maths (STEAM) in early childhood education.
Paula will lead Portobello Institute's upcoming early years webinar on May 17th, register to attend here.
She is undertaking her PhD at Dundalk Institute of Technology, co-funded by the HEA Technological Universities Transformation Fund and DkIT.
Her current book “Síolta in Practice: Implementing Síolta Quality Standards in Early Childhood Education and Care” is available from here.
Paula has extensive knowledge and experience of ECEC pedagogical practice and leadership and she sits on the committee of Professional Educators and Managers Ireland (PEMI), the professional body for ECEC in Ireland.
She lectures at both Dundalk Institute of Technology and the Technological University of the Shannon.
Portobello Institute will hold a free educational early years webinar entitled "Digital Technologies & STEAM and how they can Promote Inclusion & Wellbeing" on May 17th 2023.

Pauline Maguire will also speak at the webinar. Pauline is the Head of Academic Operations at Portobello Institute. She developed the virtual learning environment to support learners in the Institute.
Prior to this, Pauline ran a Montessori Preschool for 12 years, and has an MSc in Education & Training Management (eLearning) and a professional diploma in Creativity and Innovation in Education.
Pauline is also Certified Lego Education Teacher Trainer and alongside her husband, runs a company that specialises in the promotion of STEAM Education.
