More Information

Portobello Institute has a dynamic sports department with pathways to progression and a focus on career opportunities for every individual who comes through our doors.

We have a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy awarded by the University of Essex which upon successful completion offers secure routes to master's programmes in physiotherapy in Ireland and the UK. We recently held a webinar on this where some of our graduates spoke about their journeys: https://youtu.be/eyiUJNt1lZs

Our BA (Hons) in Physical Education awarded by Liverpool John Moore’s University (LJMU) gives learners the opportunity to qualify and work in professional sports coaching and the option to study a PGCEi and a MSc Physical Education to become a qualified PE teacher.

Our newest programme is a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. This programme offers a broad, practitioner-focused pathway to employment or further education in applied sports sciences. This programme gives learners time to figure out which sports career path they would like to pursue while gaining transferable skills and a high-quality qualification, awarded by LJMU setting them up for success.

This is a sample of the secure routes Portobello offers, this has proven to be a successful route for many of our current students and graduates coming from further education institutes and I understand that your learners finishing programmes soon may be in a prime position for entry, and even advanced entry in some cases onto our degree programmes.
