Airport Services Duty Officer 

This typical job description is for those coming from a trade background looking for a career change to the aviation sector. It outlines that training will be provided. 

Specific accountabilities in this role include:

  • Ensuring that passenger and aircraft handling practices conform to the safety and security standards 
  • Ensuring that all QR aircraft handling standards are met on a shift basis 
  • Managing and controlling manpower on the shift, in order to optimize utilization and to maintain staff morale and discipline 
  • Ensuring proper allocation of manpower and resources in the airport operations 
  • Completing checks to ensure adequate standards are maintained 
  • Resolving customer problems and complaints while on duty and working with all departments including Customer Relations to provide resolutions for complaint handling 
  • Facilitating ramp handling activities in liaison with GHA, Caterers, Fueling, Maintenance, Cargo, and Crew to expedite departure 

Mechanics 

Qualified Mechanics are always needed on the ground in every airport. The key responsibilities for an airport mechanic may include: 

  • Ensure that all work and duties assigned are completed in a timely and professional manner so as to maximise output
  • Ensure that all work done is signed for as required 
  • Ensure that systems and handovers are up-to-date and accurate 
  • Ensure proper use of all personal protective clothing and equipment as required 
  • Maintain work area in a clean and tidy condition at all times 
  • Report any technical or airworthiness issue to the Team Leader 
  • Be prepared to undertake other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time. 

Senior Records Specialist  

The Records Central Services team provides specialized aircraft technical records services to Lessors and Airlines, facilitating a streamlined transition of aviation assets (Airframe and/or Engines) from one lease to another. The key roles and responsilibies for this job could be as follows:  

  • Work on aircraft transition projects as part of a project team, working to project schedules and work plans communicated by the team leader 
  • Lead tasks within projects up to taking the lead on full MSN transitions 
  • Perform technical records reviews independently, comprising among others: Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Supplementary Type Certificate mods, Minor modifications, Landing Gear LLPs, Engines (SB’s, AD’s & LLPs), Structural Damages, maintenance status summaries, Outstanding Item List (OIL) closure 
  • Identify key areas of concern in terms of lease contract compliance 
  • Independently manage closure of open items identified during the review 
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution 
  • Manage digital technical records on the CAE cloud storage solution 
  • Contribute to evolving internal procedures 
  • Teach and mentor team members 
  • Communicate with clients, project team members and internal stakeholders 

Ground Handling Agent 

As a ground handling agent, you would be working as part of a large team to ensure that flights depart on time. No previous airport or ramp experience is required as training is provided.  

Duties include; 

  • Loading and unloading of baggage & cargo  
  • Operation of vehicles around the airport to transport baggage to/ from the main terminal 
  • Carrying out headset communications with flight crew 
  • Marshall aircraft onto stand on arrival 
  • Ensure the airline’s turnarounds are completed in a safe manner 
  • Assist passengers during boarding where needed 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols is adhered to 
  • Other duties include baggage hall and operational support services 

Air Import Clerk 

In this role, the successful candidate will ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Import Department.  

Day-to-day tasks for this job will include but are not limited to 

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry allowing for smooth freight process flow  
  • Ensure accurate and timely client billing  
  • Track and Trace air import files Interacting with customers in arranging shipment

Banking, Insurance, and Aviation (BIA) Team Specialist 

The specialist in this role will work under the direction and coaching of a supervisor to complete the key standardised audit procedures in relation to a broad range of clients, including insurance, aircraft leasing and other financing companies. The specialist also will complete an in-depth training course prior to commencing work on any engagements. 

This role may include: 

  • Liaising with audit teams to discuss and understand their clients 
  • Checking of client-prepared documentation 
  • Checking the validity of client-prepared information 
  • Manage multiple tasks within a strict deadline 
  • Assist in process improvements 
  • Preparation and documentation of the work performed (under the direction and supervision of a supervisor) within audit work paper software 
  • Cooperating with senior team members towards the completion of work and demonstrating flexibility within the work plan when necessary 
  • Continuously communicating with the senior team members with respect to engagement progress, risks and issues 
  • Where necessary, liaise with engagement teams and their clients to discuss and resolve issues as they arise
