What does an MSc Clinical Exercise Prescription Qualify you to do?

26 Jul 2022

This one-year degree programme is perfect for those looking to add to their portfolio of qualifications and unlock career opportunities that were previously unavailable to them.

Upon graduation from this course, students will have developed their self-awareness and practical/transferable skills to enhance their employment opportunities. In addition, the teaching team will endeavour to assist students searching for suitable employment in the sector nationally and internationally. There will also be the opportunity for some graduates who want to do a PhD to do so in several specialist universities, both in Ireland and overseas.

Through the modules taught to you and the knowledge you will pick up from the season industry professionals who deliver this degree, you will put yourself amongst the names of the most-qualified and industry-ready people in clinical treatment and professional sport.

If you go down the route of working with elite-level athletes, this degree will have equipped you with the knowledge to develop effective and efficient injury rehabilitation programmes for athletes with injuries across the severity spectrum. You will be responsible for that athlete returning to competition as quickly and as safely as possible, adhering to return-to-play protocols from whatever governing body your athletes play under. This master’s is a valuable qualification even if you’re undergraduate degree has dealt with a different discipline under the umbrella of professional sport.

If you move towards a more clinical setting, this master’s degree will teach you the practical and theoretical skills to assist the general population across all age ranges. You will be responsible for prescribing exercise programmes that will enhance and revitalise the lives of those living with chronic physical afflictions and health conditions.
