Advanced entry to degree programmes at Portobello Institute is possible under different circumstances across our departments. It has proven hugely successful for many of our graduates.
We believe in fast tracking your path to success if you are in the position to do so by interpreting your qualifications and experience and on a case by case basis granting advanced entry into year two or three of our programmes depending on what will be the best option for you. This saves you time and money on your Portobello journey.

Her results from the programme allowed her to gain advanced entry into the second year of Portobello’s BSc in Sports Therapy.
After graduating in 2020, Shannon set up Rebound Injury Clinic which is based in BeDo7 gym in Dublin, and she has provided service to over 500 clients. She was just 22 years of age graduating from Portobello Institute and she has gone from strength to strength, tutoring at Portobello and even hiring another sports therapy graduate, Nicole Brindle, at her clinic.
Shannon fast-tracked her success using her further education qualification and this path is also possible for anyone who has gained a sports, science, health or fitness qualification previously.
Sean Moriarty is another advanced entry graduate who has gone on to successfully complete his Master's in Physiotherapy.

How Do You Gain Advanced Entry?
Gaining advanced entry is as simple as reaching out to our admissions team for a conversation. They will speak with you about your qualifications and experience and organise an interview for you with the relevant members of the academic team.
The interview style is informal and more about you as an individual, understanding your goals and objectives, experience and ambitions.
After, you will be contacted and informed if advanced entry is suitable for you or if direct entry to year one of a programme is more appropriate. These decisions are made with your best interests in mind to ensure you fulfil your potential throughout the programme.
