How to apply for an MBE Skillnet funded place on IWFM 5 Sustainability & Environmental Issues in FM

Midland Border East Skillnet (MBE Skillnet) is delighted to partner with the Portobello Institute for the following programme: IWFM Level 5 Sustainability & Environmental Issues.

What is MBE Skillnet?

Midland Border East Skillnet is a national, multi-sectoral learning network encompassing companies of all sizes.

Their key focus is on the needs of member companies, to identify and drive training and upskilling across all sectors, and meeting business, people, and performance needs of members.

They offer funding for upskilling in programmes across a wide variety of disciplines. 

To apply for funding, the company you work for is required to become a member of the MBE Skillnet network. There is no cost associated and membership is open to all private sector companies, from all industries and sectors throughout Ireland.

You will also be required to apply to Portobello Institute for your programme of choice and we will confirm you meet the entry criteria with MBE Skillnet.

You will then be required to pay directly to MBE Skillnet the deposit/fees due for the course and MBE will pay Portobello Institute directly on your behalf. 

Step by step - How to apply for an MBE Skillnet funded place? 

  1. Enquire through Portobello Institute about your programme of choice and entry criteria. 
  2. Become a member company of MBE Skillnet and apply to Portobello Institute for a programme place. 
  3. Portobello Institute will confirm your eligibility and offer you a place on the programme. 
  4. Portobello Institute will confirm your eligibility for MBE Skillnet. 
  5. Pay deposit/fees to MBE Skillnet. 
  6. MBE Skillnet confirms payment of deposit/fees. 
  7. Portobello Institute will confirm your place on the programme. 
  8. MBE Skillnet pays Portobello Institute. 

IWFM Level 5 Sustainability & Environmental Issues FM  

This 6-week course will support you in evaluating the sustainability and environmental management within your organisation and in light of industry best practices, make recommendations for improvement.

Delivered online with interactive webinars, by industry expert tutors, this 6-week course is ideal for anyone seeking to gain an insight into sustainability and environmental management as it relates specifically to facilities management.

Who will recognise my qualification?

This UK Level 5 unit certificate in “Sustainability and environmental management and the impact on facilities management” is awarded by the Institute for Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). A UK Level 5 award is mapped closely to align with a level 7 award on the National Framework of Qualifications. Students are registered with IWFM.

Cost After MBE Skillnet Funding: €850 (paid via bank transfer directly to Skillnet to secure your booking).
