Here at Portobello Institute, we are celebrating the annual World FM Day. World FM Day is run by the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). This year it takes place on Wednesday 11th May.
The purpose of World FM Day is to recognise and celebrate the vital work that workplace and facilities managers and the wider industry contribute to business worldwide.
It aims to raise the profile of the facilities profession anywhere that its practitioners influence the health, safety, productivity, and wellbeing of people who use the built environment.
Each year, World FM Day has a key theme that ties together the FM industry. This year the theme is ‘Leading a sustainable future’.
Sustainability has been pushed to the forefront of the conversation in facilities management and has become central to the job of facilities management around the globe, with commitments towards sustainable goals being made at national, continental, and global levels.
You can hear from leading FM personnel on the role of sustainability in their day-to-day activities by visiting the IWFM website, where you can also find information on how to get involved.
