Who Should Study a BA (Hons) in Fashion Management Degree?

With fashion being one of the most competitive industries in the world, those who want to have a successful career in fashion need to be able to show they have the most relevant and up-to-date experience when applying for jobs.

The BA (Hons) in Fashion Management is suited to those who have a deep passion for all things fashion and business. Over the course of this degree, you will learn core principles of both business and fashion, making you a highly sought-after asset for any fashion brand or business.

This degree is equally valuable for those who are already working in the fashion industry but who may have not ever received a formal education in fashion and, instead, worked their way to where they are but now need a degree to progress further in their career. You will be able to apply what you are learning directly to your existing job and vice versa.

If you have already begun your educational journey in the fashion business industry in the form of a further education degree, this BA (Hons) programme is the perfect follow-on as you continue your education.

Portobello Institute has been able to establish a network of connections with the main fashion departments within some of Ireland’s largest retailers. Students of this course will be able to avail of this network and its benefits initially through degree-mandated work experience and then upon graduation when looking for full-time employment.

The work experience programme for this programme affords students the opportunity to engage with some of the leading fashion brands in Ireland and the UK and leverage those connections to advance their careers. These include brands operating in the luxury fashion arena such as Brown Thomas and Harvey Nichols to brands operating in fast-moving high fashion such as Primark and Vero Moda.

Students may also take up an international work experience placement at the end of the programme with a global brand operating in the UK, US, Sweden, Spain, or Portugal. Companies participating in our work experience programme invest considerable time in our students and recruit directly from this placement programme.
